WinXcorners
version 1.0
Requirements
- Windows 10 x86/x64
WinXcorners allows you to assign events to trigger on your main monitor corners, it activates when your mouse cursor hovers them, i.e. when you move your mouse cursor to your screen edges.
These are the options that you can select:
- Show all windows, using Task view, the new Windows 10 feature.
- Show desktop
- Start Screen Saver, and
- Turn off monitors

The application runs in the System Tray, by right clicking you can enable it to run when Windows starts (logon).

Limitations:
- The application won't detect the screen edges if you are using (focused) an elevated privileged application. But you can always restart the application as administrator.
- If you have multiple monitors, it won't work in a secondary monitor.

Deletewell, still working great, isn't?
DeleteAwesome app!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Coming from Linux about a month ago, I really missed this feature!
ReplyDeleteSame here. Together with Ditto, Keepass, Winsshterm and Remote Connection Manager, I have almost everything I had on my Linux desktop.
DeleteJust hopped from Mac to Windows and there you are! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHow can I suspend windows 10 with this tool? what is the command that I have to type in?
ReplyDeleteCould you add another option: temporarily disable screensaver.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to configure one corner to start the screensaver, and another corner to prevent the screensaver from starting. That's what I do on my Mac.
Thanks!
it works perfectly! thx :)
ReplyDeleteThis is missing a really important feature for me: the ability to drag-and-drop in conjunction with hot corners. I use that on my Mac all the time. Most common case is having some Finder windows open, using a hot corner to expose the desktop, select a file, and *while dragging that file*, hit the hot corner again to go back to the Finder windows and drop the file there. This tool doesn't allow that :( Probably the fault of Windows, but it would be really great if that functionality was added.
ReplyDeletethanks for the app.
ReplyDelete@Trevor. Agree. Sadly it's certainly a Windows built-in flaw as you said
Adding to "show start menu" on hot corner would be great. And just for idea. There is no hot corners app, that would use "pressure" corners as in linux. Corner will not react until cursor have made certain amount of distance, instead of time criteria. This way, if I accidentally move cursor to corner while wanting to press on start menu, it will not trigger even if I hold it for several seconds, but reacts if i "smash" into that corner.
ReplyDeleteThis is really nice, but it's missing some really important details. For example, I would like to turn off sleep mode when I put my mouse in one corner. Simple enough to put a custom command, but what happens after I remove my mouse from the corner? need a secondary command to launch once I remove the mouse from the corner to turn it back on. That will make this program much more usable.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this wonderful app!
ReplyDeleteAnd happy new year!
